Gender Based Violence Services. You are not alone.

Each year, thousands of people turn to our Gender Based Violence Unit for support. We are a specialized Victim Services program providing services such as safety planning, trauma-informed care, support and advocacy within other systems such as the justice system, policing, and social services, connection to additional resources, access to important information, and support in making self-determined choices. If your spouse, partner, or someone in your family has been abusive in any way, we are here to help.

Victim Services

We are a Specialized Victim Services Program offering support to those impacted by abuse or violence from an intimate partner or family member. Since abuse exists on a spectrum, our services range from addressing early warning signs in new relationships to supporting survivors of serious assaults in long-term partnerships.

Whether you’ve never reported to the police, your partner is involved in Regina’s Domestic Violence Court, or they are in custody, we provide safety planning, advocacy, and emotional support.

Beyond violence and abuse, we assist with navigating systems, making referrals, and collaborating with other services to ensure you receive the help you need. We offer court support, police accompaniment, risk assessments, and guidance on programs like Clare’s Law, lease termination, and workplace accommodations for survivors. We're here to help—wherever you are on your journey.

Early Intervention for Families

In the spirit of prevention we have launched our Early Intervention Project for families. In this program we look to engage those who are at risk of using violence or abuse in their relationship as well as build on our existing supports to those at risk of experiencing violence. We offer support and referrals to mitigate the struggles that can lead to violence such as life’s unexpected events, substance misuse, homelessness, or mental health concerns. We will provide risk assessment, case planning, and collaborate with other support services to provide wrap-around support.

Older Adult Response Service

Our Older Adult Response Service (OARS) provides specialized supports to seniors who are being impacted by abuse at the hands of an intimate partner or family member. Working with the seniors in our community requires a special touch. Some of the supports we provide are home visits, safety planning, assistance navigating systems such as the health system, working with the Public Guardian and Trustee, and case consultations with other involved services. Our OARS caseworkers also provide community education regarding the abuse of older adults.
